3 “Healthy” Foods You Should Stop Eating to Burn Belly Fat

I remember when I started on the quest to burn belly fat, I began with the idea to “eat healthy.” I started by cutting out all the “junk foods.” This meant no more things like chips, cookies, etc – all the obvious things. Then I started trying to eat a more “balanced” diet. One of my favorite ways of doing this was by switching to soy products – soy milk, soy nuts for snacks, etc. I also like to create turkey sandwiches for lunch on whole grain bread – the stuff that has no enriched wheat in it. I thought ‘hey it has no enriched wheat so its healthy.’

While these sorts of things might help you eat a ‘balanced diet’ or a ‘healthy diet’ – our goal is to burn belly fat. Besides, the concept of a ‘balanced diet’ is rather arbitrary – it’s really just political nonsense more than any sort of scientific inquiry. If you study what more primal humans ate as food, they contained no wheat or soy products, and they didn’t contain very much fruit. There is a subset of health nuts who create diets based on these ideas.

Today I want to share with you an article that details three foods which are often referred to as ‘healthy’ but that you should actually avoid if you want to lose belly fat. One of those foods is wheat. The other two are corn and soy. You probably have heard or read that you should avoid high fructose corn syrup – it’s used instead of sugar in many drinks because it is incredibly cheap to produce – but what about all the other things that are made of corn? And corn itself?

Remember our goal is to burn belly fat – and this requires specific planning. You may need to stop eating certain things that you enjoy – but after you lose that belly fat, then you can return to it.

Are Energy Drinks ok While Trying to Burn Belly Fat?

It took me a long time to figure out some key information about the body when it comes to weight loss. Specifically when you want to burn belly fat, there is a lot of misinformation. As we saw in the article about veggies that burn fat, it isn’t just about ‘eating less’ or having a ‘balanced diet.’ Those approaches are too straightforward – too simple – they are a marketer’s answer to the weight loss problem. “All you have to do is eat less, eat healthy, and exercise!” That’s what a personal trainer tells you right?

The key to those claims is that ultimately, they often can work – but it isn’t terribly efficient, and often it isn’t healthy – particularly the “eat less” claim. Unless of course, you are going from eating 8 meals a day to 3 effectively, then yes “eating less” is good. The main problem I have run into with the ‘eating less’ track is that of energy. I often found myself low on energy and I would supplement with energy drinks.

Well I have an article to share with you today on that particular subject. Just how good or bad are Energy Drinks for you? Obviously if you go with a full sugared energy drink then you might as well be downing soda loaded with extra herbs and chemicals designed to make you ‘feel’ like you have more energy. The most common energy drinks are basically loaded with caffeine, sugar, and some other herbs that do a little bit – this gives that jittery awake feeling in the head. Then there are energy drinks which load you full of B complex vitamins.

Even the energy drinks without sugar use artificial sweeteners – I haven’t read a single report that shows artificial sweeteners are good for you, and I’ve read a number of research reports that show they are bad for you in numerous ways, and in some cases are worse than actually just having a regular sugared drink.

So check out this article on Energy Drinks – it’s important to know everything that you may put into your body when you are trying to burn belly fat. This article even has a tip on making your own home-made “energy drink” which isn’t laden with chemicals and other things that will hinder your ability to burn belly fat. Pretty cool!
